Hi, I'm Kat - the owner of this blog and realtor to all kinds of families across the St. Louis Area. This blog is to bring you all things HOME. Whether it's buying, selling, investing or it’s maintaining, organizing, decorating and more - you can find it here!
If you’ve ever moved with kids, you know the “box fatigue” is real. There comes a point where the bubble wrap feels like it’s taking over, the “to-do” list is a mile long, and everyone—especially the little ones—just needs a collective deep breath.
When I’m working with families outgrowing their space, I always tell them: you can’t pour from an empty cup. Sometimes the most productive thing you can do for your move is to step away from the house for an afternoon and reset.
Here are my favorite St. Louis spots to find a little peace (and a lot of fresh air) this April.
April is the “main event” at the Garden. If you need a visual reminder that transitions can be beautiful, head to the Japanese Garden.
If your kids are feeling “cooped up” by the moving process, this is the cure. Unlike a traditional playground, this is 17 acres of sensory play.
Tower Grove is my go-to for a low-pressure Saturday morning. It’s flat, easy to navigate, and full of historic charm.
I love Faust Park because it’s so versatile. It’s the perfect place for a “run-around” between house showings or after a morning of packing.
Laumeier is 105 acres of “go play” energy. It’s my go-to when my boys need space to actually be loud and move their bodies.
Because St. Louis weather is… well, St. Louis weather, you need a rainy day plan.
Moving is a big transition, but it doesn’t have to mean constant chaos. Whether you’re exploring the gardens or just grabbing a latte at the farmers’ market, remember to celebrate the season you’re in.
If you see me at the park with my boys this month, come say hi! I’ll likely have a vanilla latte in hand and be right there in the “mom-life” trenches with you.
